Surojit Chatterjee, Chief Product Officer at Coinbase, has said that Ethereum, the second largest crypto by market cap, will add new scaling improvements this year.
Surojit Chatterjee is sure that Ethereum will be at the forefront of Web3 and the crypto-economy as it scales. In a blog post published today, he said that Ethereum scalability will improve but alternative layer 1 networks will also see development.
“I am optimistic about improvements in Eth scalability with the emergence of Eth2 and many L2 rollups.”
According to him, we will also see the emergence of newer layer 1 networks focused on gaming and social media. He thinks scalability will be considerably improved by improvements in layer 1 to layer 2 bridges. He has also added that the industry will “desperately seek improvements in speed and usability of cross-L1 and L1-L2 bridges.”
Thanks to these bridges, tokens can be moved from a layer 1 network such as Ethereum to a layer 2 network such as Arbitrum and vice versa.
