Mobile Ethereum wallet developer Argent has recently raised $40 million in a Series B funding round.

The round was reportedly led by venture capital firms Fabric Ventures and Metaplanet, owned by Skype co-founder Jaan Tallinn. However, there were also new investors, including Starkware, Jump Crypto and Animoca Brands. In addition, Paradigm, Index Ventures and Creandum increased their investment in the company.

According to the company, it will use the funds to support a wider range of DeFi and Web 3.0 activities.

Argent co-founder and CEO Itamar Lesuisse has said:

“We are still very focused on finance, but we would like to play a bigger role in other areas of non-fungible tokens, such as NFT gaming or virtual real estate. We want to be the de facto gaming wallet.”
