Lightspeed Opens a Blockchain Division

Lightspeed Venture Partners has recently raised $7.1 billion in four new funds to support “start up entrepreneurs.”

In addition, the company has also formed the Lightspeed Faction team, which will focus on investments in the crypto industry.

According to the firm, the Lightspeed Faction will be led by investors Sam Harrison and Banafshe Fatiye. The team will concentrate 9 years of experience in financing a venture capital company of blockchain startups.

According to the announcement:

“Participants are convinced that blockchain companies will lead a significant shift in the computing paradigm of the innovative economy.”

One of the announced Lightspeed India Partners Fund IV funds with a volume of $500 million will focus “on supporting entrepreneurs from India and Southeast Asia.”
