CFTC Adds 6 Crypto Companies to its List of Unregistered Firms
The US Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) has just added 34 foreign organizations to its list of unregistered companies. According to the list, six of them offer crypto-related services.
The companies in question are TradeFinancials, CryptoBO, Bitpay Options, CryptoSphereFX, Direct Cryptos and Prime Crypto FX.
According to the regulator, users must careful:
“Because they are not registered with the CFTC, customers interacting with them may not be subject to protections and guarantees.”
They have added that working with such organizations threatens “significant risks.” In general, the so-called “red list” has now expanded to include 202 firms.
In November 2020, the Texas regulator issued three emergency orders to terminate the activities of 14 crypto companies suspected of fraud.
