Former FTX CEO Will Testify in Congress

Sam Bankman-Fried, former CEO of crypto exchange FTX, has said on Twitter he will testify before the House Financial Services Committee next December 13.

The Committee Chairman Maxine Waters has recently said she and her colleagues on the committee will try to find out why the exchange went bankrupt.

According to her, the presence of the ex-head of the company should be mandatory because he has valuable information and should help Congress develop a mechanism by which to minimize the risks of other cryptocurrency companies collapsing.

Maxine Waters warned him last week that if the former FTX head refused to come to Congress voluntarily, he would be subpoenaed.

Bankman-Fried was a member of many lobby groups advocating for the cryptocurrency market in Washington.
