Avalanche Implements Cortina Upgrade on Project’s Mainnet

Avalanche, a proof-of-stake blockchain developed by Ava Labs, activated the Cortina upgrade on its mainnet on April 25, implementing changes to optimize the network for developers.
The upgrade included migrating the X-Chain to Snowman++ consensus, enabling complex X-Chain transactions and integrating Avalanche Warp Messaging (AWM).
Additionally, the C-Chain’s block gas limit was increased from 8 million to 15 million gas, and the gas target was set at 15 million gas per 10 seconds to accommodate the deployment of more complex dApps on the network.
