Harvest Fund Files Application for a Spot Bitcoin ETF in Hong Kong

According to Tencent News, Harvest Fund Management, a major Chinese asset manager, has submitted an application for a spot Bitcoin ETF to the Securities and Futures Commission in Hong Kong.

This comes as Hong Kong prepares to potentially approve its first batch of spot cryptocurrency ETFs, with Harvest hoping to launch the first one after the Lunar New Year holiday on Feb. 10.

Other companies, such as Hong Kong-based VSFG, are also working towards launching spot Bitcoin ETFs in the first quarter.

In addition, various companies have expressed interest in stablecoin-related trials as Hong Kong ramps up efforts to establish stablecoin regulations.
