Bitcoin’s price fell by about 7% on Sunday amid global financial market volatility triggered by US President Donald Trump’s tariff announcements.

The leading cryptocurrency dropped to approximately $77,500, after trading above $80,000 for most of the year, according to CoinMarketCap.

Other cryptocurrencies, such as Ethereum and Solana, experienced even larger declines, each plummeting around 12% over the past 24 hours.

Overall, the crypto market decreased by roughly 7% within the same period.

Since reaching a record high of approximately $110,000 in January, Bitcoin has fallen about 28%.

Initially, the crypto market surged, gaining over half a trillion dollars in value after Trump unveiled a new strategic reserve last month. However, it began to decline last week as he signaled his commitment to maintaining restrictive tariff policies.
