Bitcoin Records its Highest Weekly Close
Bitcoin has made history by closing a weekly candle above $107,000 for the first time, briefly reaching that price before settling back to $105,000. Currently trading around $104,300, this rally brings it within 3% of its all-time high, according to CoinGecko.
In the past six weeks, Bitcoin has seen significant gains, reminiscent of the November 2021 surge when it jumped $30,000 with three large candles. Just in May, it has already increased by $13,000, from $94,000 to over $107,000.
This breakout coincides with Metaplanet, a Japanese public company, confirming a new purchase of 1,004 Bitcoin for $104 million.
This acquisition raises its total holdings to 7,800 BTC, now valued at approximately $812 million, as the company has consistently been accumulating for months.
