JPMorgan CEO Says Bank Will Allow Clients to Buy Bitcoin
JPMorgan Chase is now permitting clients to purchase Bitcoin, though its CEO, Jamie Dimon, remains unconvinced of its value.
At the bank’s annual investor gathering, Dimon remarked:
“We are going to allow you to buy it. We’re not going to custody it. We’re going to put it in statements for clients.”
This marks a noteworthy development for the prominent US bank, especially in light of Dimon’s previous criticisms of the cryptocurrency market.
The move aligns with Bitcoin’s increasing acceptance in mainstream investment circles, following actions by Morgan Stanley to permit select clients access to Bitcoin ETFs.
Dimon, however, continues to voice concerns over issues like money laundering and ownership ambiguity, as well as links to crime.
