Christopher Giancarlo, the ex-CFTC chief renowned as “Crypto Dad,” is taking his regulatory expertise to Sygnum, joining the Swiss digital asset bank’s Advisory Council.

Announced May 27, his role will focus on shaping compliance strategies and fostering institutional crypto adoption.

Giancarlo’s appointment underscores Sygnum’s commitment to bridging traditional finance and crypto. The bank, which hit unicorn status after a $58 million raise, aims to leverage Giancarlo’s experience navigating US and global regulations.

“The industry is nearing a turning point,” Giancarlo said, emphasizing the need for clear policies to unlock institutional capital.
