Florida AG Targets Robinhood Crypto in Trump-Aligned Consumer Protection Move

Reading Time: < 1 minute

Florida Attorney General James Uthmeier has launched an investigation into Robinhood Crypto’s pricing practices.

The probe focuses on whether the platform misled users about being the lowest-cost option for cryptocurrency trading.

“Crypto represents Florida’s financial future,” Uthmeier said, echoing Trump’s recent pro-digital asset comments. “But we must ensure companies are being honest with consumers about costs.”

The AG’s office has subpoenaed Robinhood for documents that would validate its “trade crypto at the lowest cost” marketing claims. This action underscores Florida’s dual approach of embracing cryptocurrency while enforcing strict consumer protection standards.
