Polymarket Cleared as US Regulators End Lengthy Investigations

Reading Time: < 1 minute

Prediction market Polymarket can breathe easier after US authorities closed long-running probes into its operations, Bloomberg reported.

The DOJ and CFTC had examined potential US user access violations, but both agencies recently notified Polymarket of their decisions to drop the cases. This follows a 2022 CFTC settlement where the company paid a $1.4 million penalty and tightened compliance.

The resolution removes a major regulatory overhang for Polymarket, which has faced scrutiny since CEO Shayne Coplan’s electronics were seized in 2024.
