Pat McFadden, a UK Cabinet Office minister, argued Tuesday that crypto donations should be prohibited due to their opacity, telling lawmakers, “We must ensure the public can trust political financing.”
His remarks followed concerns raised by Labour’s Liam Byrne about untraceable contributions.
Meanwhile, in the US, figures like Donald Trump have welcomed crypto donations, capitalizing on the digital asset sector’s growing influence. The divide highlights the global struggle to balance innovation with election security.
