BlackRock Joins Race to Offer Staking in Ethereum ETFs

Reading Time: < 1 minute

BlackRock has entered the staking ETF arena, filing with the SEC to update its iShares Ethereum Trust (ETHA)—just weeks after regulators greenlit the first staking crypto ETF.

The move puts BlackRock in direct competition with firms like 21 Shares and Grayscale, which have also proposed staking-enabled Ethereum funds. The filing follows record-breaking ETH ETF inflows, including a $726.74 million single-day haul—nearly $500M of which went to ETHA.

With $7.9 billion in AUM, BlackRock’s ETHA is the largest Ethereum ETF. If approved, staking could further solidify its lead.
