House Passes Crypto Bills Amid GOP Unity and Democratic Crossovers

Reading Time: < 1 minute

In a rare bipartisan move, the US House approved three major crypto bills Thursday, with Republicans largely unified and dozens of Democrats breaking ranks to support two measures.

The CLARITY Act (294-134) and GENIUS Act (308-122) saw strong backing, while the Anti-CBDC Surveillance State Act (219-210) faced tighter opposition.

GOP leadership had urged full party support, framing the bills as part of Trump’s pro-crypto agenda. However, resistance from some Republicans over CBDC restrictions briefly stalled voting.

With Congress set to recess in August, the bills’ passage marks a key step toward regulatory clarity for digital assets.
