Michael Saylor’s Strategy Boosts Bitcoin Holdings by $740M as BTC Tops $122K
Michael Saylor’s Strategy, the largest corporate holder of Bitcoin, expanded its BTC reserves last week as the cryptocurrency soared past $122,000 for the first time on July 14.
According to a US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) filing on Monday, Strategy purchased 6,220 BTC for $739.8 million in the week ending Sunday. This brings its total holdings to 607,770 BTC, acquired for approximately $43.6 billion at an average price of $71,756 per coin.
Saylor noted that the latest acquisition increased Strategy’s year-to-date (YTD) Bitcoin yield by 0.6%, rising from 20.2% to 20.8%. Following this adjustment, the company is now just 4.2% away from its revised 25% target, up from an initial goal of 15%.
Per CoinGecko, Strategy’s new BTC purchases were made at an average price of $118,940 per coin. Bitcoin began the week at an all-time high above $122,000 before dipping to a weekly low of $116,000 and stabilizing near $118,000.
