SEC Kicks Solana ETF Decisions to October, Continuing Crypto Approval Delays
The US SEC has once again delayed its verdict on Solana ETF proposals, pushing the decision deadline for Bitwise and 21Shares‘ applications to October 16.
The regulator cited the need for “sufficient time to consider” the proposals—a familiar refrain in its handling of crypto ETFs. Similar delays have affected Solana ETF filings from Grayscale and Fidelity, as the SEC continues its cautious approach.
The postponement comes amid a wave of new crypto ETF submissions, including funds tracking XRP and DOGE, fueled by a more crypto-friendly political environment. While firms like ProShares and Canary have tweaked their filings to meet SEC demands, progress remains sluggish, leaving the industry waiting.
