Senate GOP Races to Pass Crypto Market Bill by October

Reading Time: < 1 minute

Senate Republicans are pushing forward with their own crypto market structure legislation, releasing a draft bill that could sync with the House’s recent regulatory efforts.

Banking Committee Chair Tim Scott and Subcommittee Chair Cynthia Lummis unveiled the proposal Tuesday, framing it as an extension of the House’s CLARITY Act. “We need clear rules now,” Scott stressed.

Despite bipartisan House support for three crypto bills last week, only the GENIUS Act reached the president’s desk. The Senate GOP is now fast-tracking its version for a pre-October vote.
