CoinShares Granted MiCA License in France, Claims Regulatory First

Reading Time: < 1 minute

CoinShares has secured a Markets in Crypto-Assets (MiCA) license in France, marking a key regulatory achievement for the European investment firm.

The approval, issued to its French arm, CoinShares Asset Management, establishes the company as the first continental European asset manager to operate under MiCA compliance.

The firm, a major player in crypto ETPs, now holds three European licenses—MiCA, MiFID, and AIFM—solidifying its position as the only continental asset manager with this regulatory trifecta. The move follows CoinShares’ US expansion efforts, including its acquisition of Valkyrie Funds last year.
