Just months after launching its Bitcoin accumulation strategy, Metaplanet has solidified its position as a major institutional holder—now ranking seventh globally with 17,132 BTC ($2 billion).

On Monday, the Tokyo firm announced its latest purchase: 780 BTC for $92.5 million, acquired at an average of $118,622 per coin. CEO Simon Gerovich revealed the company’s overall average buy-in remains a competitive $101,030.

Metaplanet isn’t slowing down. Last month, it unveiled an ambitious plan to control 1% of Bitcoin’s supply (210,000+ BTC) by 2027. The bet is already driving growth—Q2 revenue jumped 42.4% to 1.1B yen ($7.6M), proving its BTC-centric model’s viability.
