Ripple has received final approval from the US Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC) to establish a national trust bank, bringing its RLUSD stablecoin reserve management under federal supervision.

Ripple National Trust Bank will manage segregated reserves backing RLUSD, act as collateral trustee for tokenholders and provide digital asset custody services. RLUSD will continue to be issued by Standard Custody & Trust Company, which is regulated by the New York Department of Financial Services.

The approval follows conditional authorisation in December 2025. National trust banks can provide custody and fiduciary services but cannot accept deposits or make loans.
