Algorand Announces Network Performance Has Increased 5x
Algorand developers have upgraded the network, which has resulted in the increase of the blockchain throughput from 1,200 to 6,000 transactions per second (TPS).
According to them, the update includes the State Proofs solution, a tool which is a standard for interoperability of blockchains with the outside world without intermediaries.
Algorand founder Silvio Micali has said:
“Decentralization should not come at the expense of performance or security. Interaction between blockchains is the future, and State Proofs is a critical security feature for communication between networks.”
The Algorand team has said that the performance of the Visa network is 1,500-2,000 TPS, whereas the Bitcoin blockchain can process about five transactions per second, and Ethereum ten.
