BNB Chain Team Explores Next Steps After Network’s Hack

Reading Time: < 1 minute

BNB Chain (BSC) developers have apologized to the community for the recent BSC Token Hub bridge hack incident and have announced a vote on the next steps.

According to the post, the team was able to neutralize the issue, although “it wasn’t that easy.” They have said:

“Currently, BNB Smart Chain has 26 active validators and a total of 44 in different time zones. This delayed the shutdown of the network, but we were able to minimize the losses.”

The project developers claim that the exploit affected the ecosystem’s internal cross-chain bridge between BNB Beacon Chain and BSC. In total, the bad actor withdrew 2 million BNB or about $569 million. Most of the funds remain under the control of the platform.
