Crypto mining firm Riot Blockchain has just announced that it has changed its name to Riot Platforms as part of a rebrand to highlight the “growing diversification” of business operations.

The CEO of the company has explained the moved by saying:

“The range and scope of our business continues to expand. This rebrand better reflects our position as strategic capital allocators to expand the reach of Bitcoin-centric operations.”

Hosting provider Applied Digital, formerly known as Applied Blockchain, made a similar decision in November in order to diversity its business, whereas other companies have even focused their activities on other areas.
