France’s Central Bank Calls For Increased Control Over Crypto Companies
The French authorities are tightening their control over companies that provide services for the storage and exchange of cryptocurrencies.
The Ministry of Finance announced last year amendments to the current legislation which include requiring crypto exchanges to identify all their users.
François Villeroy de Galhau, the head of the Bank of France, has said that the control over the work of crypto companies should be as strict as possible. According to him, only those enterprises that have a license and fully meet the required criteria will be able to provide services in the domestic market.
In addition, the Central Bank has called on the government to develop additional measures to guarantee the safety of investors.
