NFT Project Pixelmon Raises $8M
In February 2022, Pixelmon’s NFT sale for a staggering $70 million was met with harsh criticism for its unappealing and comical art.
However, the project has since undergone significant changes in an effort to improve its reputation. By September 2022, Pixelmon had overhauled its artwork, brought in a fresh leadership team, and established a new roadmap.
The project gained further success in October 2023 with the launch of its casual side-scroller game, Kevin the Adventurer, leading to a significant increase in their NFT project’s floor price, from 0.35 ETH ($800) to a high of 1.85 ETH ($4,200).
Continuing its upward trajectory, Pixelmon has recently secured a $8 million seed investment from well-known investors such as Animoca Brands, Delphi Ventures, and Foresight Ventures (the parent company of The Block).
The funding round also saw the participation of other prominent figures including Amber Group, 9GAG Founder Ray Chan, and Immutable Co-Founder Robbie Ferguson, according to a press release.
