Dogecoin (DOGE) co-founder Billy Markus has stated he will never work on the project again due to community attitudes. He said:
“I will never [work on Dogecoin again]. Working on a crypto project is terrible because I found that the more you do for people, the more rights they get and the worse they treat you.”
Markus has also expressed his compliments to the devs for volunteering for the meme crypto over the years.
He has said he does not speak on behalf of Dogecoin, since he is no longer in the project. Markus has identified himself as a member of the community and has revealed he holds about 220,000 DOGE (about $42,000 at the moment).
Markus described in February 2021 how he pulled out of the project in 2015 and sold his savings in Dogecoin for the equivalent of a used Honda Civic.
