Jesse Powell Leaves the Post of Kraken CEO
Kraken co-founder Jesse Powell has announced that he is stepping down as CEO of the US company, a role that will reportedly be taken by the current CTO Dave Ripley.
According to the announcement made by Powell:
“Dave is a proven leader and his experience gives me great confidence that he is the perfect successor and the best person to take Kraken through the next stage of growth.”
The co-founder of the company will take the chair of the board of directors. He has led the platform since its founding in 2011 and remains its largest shareholder.
Powell has explained that his departure as CEO was dictated by a desire to spend more time working on products and “protecting the interests of the industry.”
According to him, the company interviewed “more than a dozen” candidates and chose Ripley.
