US law enforcement officers have reportedly launched an investigation into the leak of API keys for users of algorithmic trading platform for digital assets 3Commas.
According to CoinDesk, at least two customers of the service have been contacted by representatives of the FBI office.
About 100,000 API keys related to large exchanges like Binance and KuCoin have recently fallen into the hands of an attacker, who has claimed that the user data was sold to him by a platform employee.
Yuri Sorokin, co-founder and CEO of the company, has said:
“3Commas emphasizes that the internal investigation found no evidence that any of the 3Commas employees were in any way involved in attacks on API data.”
