The developers of the startup Chainway have released a tool that allows users of crypto mixer Tornado Cash to anonymously prove that their initial deposits did not contain “dirty” coins.
The service, called Proof of Innocence, provides law-abiding users with the ability to create a list of malicious wallets they don’t want to be associated with.
They can then prove through cryptography the wallet they used to deposit funds is not on this list. The tool does not require the user to provide their own address.
Tornado Cash co-founder Roman Semenov has commented:
“A good way to prove that you are not an attacker without giving up your anonymity.”
