Montenegrin Court Puts Off Do Kwon’s Extradition to South Korea

The Supreme Court of Montenegro has delayed the extradition of Do Kwon, co-founder of Terraform Labs, after a ruling indicated that he would be sent to South Korea.

Prosecutors requested the delay on August 2 and it was granted on August 8, in order to address matters related to the legality of the extradition.

Kwon, who had been active on social media after the collapse of Terra in 2022, was arrested by Montenegrin authorities for using falsified travel documents in 2023.

After serving four months in prison, discussions began regarding his extradition to either the US or South Korea where he would likely face criminal charges and civil lawsuits for his involvement in fraud at Terraform.
