Kamala Harris Pledges to Support Crypto
During a private event in New York City, Vice President and Democratic nominee Kamala Harris shared her thoughts on cryptocurrency in her first public remarks on the topic.
According to Bloomberg, Harris stated that to create an opportunity economy, she plans to bring together various groups, such as labor, small businesses, innovators, and major companies.
This partnership will focus on investing in America’s competitiveness and future while encouraging innovative technologies like AI and digital assets while also protecting consumers and investors.
She also emphasized the importance of creating a safe business environment with clear and consistent rules. Following her remarks, Uniswap Labs CEO Hayden Adams expressed his support for Harris.
While acknowledging that Democratic nominee Joe Biden’s stance on cryptocurrency has not been favorable, Adams believes that any progress towards crypto-friendly policies should be encouraged.
Harris’ comments come after Republican nominee Donald Trump made headlines for purchasing burgers with Bitcoin at a crypto-themed bar in New York called PubKey.
