Coinbase to Re-enter Indian Market

US-based cryptocurrency exchange Coinbase Global has registered with India’s Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU), enabling it to provide crypto trading services in the country, the company announced on Tuesday.

Coinbase plans to launch its initial retail services later this year, followed by further investments and products, but hasn’t specified a timeline.

Coinbase’s entry into India coincides with a surge in crypto interest, as many young Indians explore digital assets and attend trading academies to supplement their incomes.

Other crypto exchanges operating in India include CoinDCX, Binance, and KuCoin.
