SEC Delays Decision on Multiple ETFs

Reading Time: < 1 minute

The US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has once again postponed its decision on several cryptocurrency spot exchange-traded funds (ETFs), including a Solana, Litecoin, XRP and Cardano ETF, while Franklin Templeton has filed for its own XRP ETF.

The SEC has extended its review process to allow for further evaluation, retaining the right to prolong decision deadlines if needed.

These delays coincide with the SEC’s announcement of a series of roundtables addressing regulatory challenges in the crypto sector.

The first session, titled “How We Got Here and How We Get Out – Defining Security Status,” is set for March 21, 2025, at the SEC headquarters in Washington, D.C.

SEC Commissioner Hester Peirce will lead the public forum, which will focus on the classification of crypto assets, applicable regulatory frameworks, and potential enforcement strategies.
