Bitcoin Held By Public Companies Reached 16% in Q1: Report

Publicly traded companies increased their Bitcoin holdings by 16.1% in the first quarter of 2025, according to crypto fund issuer Bitwise.
By the end of Q1, company holdings reached approximately 688,000 BTC, with firms acquiring 95,431 BTC during the quarter, Bitwise reported on April 14.
The combined value of these Bitcoin holdings rose about 2.2%, totaling $56.7 billion with each BTC valued at $82,445.
Bitwise also noted an increase in the number of public companies owning Bitcoin, now totaling 79, with 12 firms making their first purchases in Q1.
The largest newcomer was Hong Kong’s Ming Shing, whose subsidiary Lead Benefit acquired 833 BTC—initially 500 BTC in January followed by 333 BTC in February.
