SEC Delays its Decisions on Dogecoin and XRP ETFs

Reading Time: < 1 minute

The US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has postponed its approval decisions for spot XRP and Dogecoin (DOGE) exchange-traded funds (ETFs), aligning with analyst predictions.

The SEC announced it will decide on the Bitwise DOGE ETF by June 15 and the Franklin XRP Fund by June 17, according to separate filings.

Regulations stipulate the Commission has 45 days from a proposed rule change announcement to approve, reject, or initiate a review process. This period can extend to 90 days if further evaluation is required.

The SEC stated it is “appropriate to designate a longer period” to thoroughly consider the proposed rule changes and associated issues.
