Galaxy Digital Plans to Begin Trading on Nasdaq
Galaxy Digital, the cryptocurrency investment firm currently traded on the Toronto Stock Exchange (TSX), is gearing up for a major shift—its anticipated move to the Nasdaq in the US.
The transition, set for May 16, hinges on shareholder approval at a special meeting scheduled for May 9, as well as Nasdaq’s final green light.
This potential move comes at an opportune time, as many crypto-related firms on the Nasdaq saw significant rebounds in April after enduring months of economic turbulence.
Galaxy’s founder and CEO, Mike Novogratz, sees the listing as a pivotal moment, calling it a step forward in the company’s mission to bridge traditional investors with the digital asset and AI spaces.
Should the plan proceed, Galaxy will adopt the ticker “GLXY” on Nasdaq while continuing to trade on the TSX during a transition period, maintaining its presence on the exchange where it debuted in 2020.
