The authorities of New Zealand have recently included crypto exchange Huobi in the country’s register of financial services providers.

The company has said:

“This represents our first step towards expanding the cryptocurrency trading business in the country.”

Once registered on the registry, Huobi will be able to offer its services in New Zealand.

The exchange has also announced it has received a so-called “innovation license” in Dubai. It targets startups, entrepreneurs and technology firms to support innovation and business scaling.

Huobi selected Singapore in November last year as its headquarters location. In the same month, a subsidiary of the company received a license from the Gibraltar regulator to launch spot trading.

Prior to this, the exchange stopped registering new users in mainland China following another wave of crackdowns on the cryptocurrency industry.
