An unknown hacker used on March 7 a bug in the price oracle configuration of the Arbitrum-based DeFi protocol Tender.fi, withdrawing $1.59 million in cryptocurrency.

The hacker then contacted the team and returned the assets in exchange for a reward of 62.16 ETH (about $96,534).

The project compensates the remuneration paid to the “white hat” from its own funds.

The platform team has specified:

“The contractor has completed the repayment of the loan. The funds are officially safe, the disclosure of information about the incident is on the way.”

This is just one of several hacks in the DeFi space in February, with the largest being the $8.5 million exploit of Platypus Finance.

Last month, DeFi protocols suffered damage in the amount of approximately $21.4 million as a result of 7 hacks.
