Ukraine Starts Accepting Donations in Dogecoin

Ukraine’s Ministry of Digital Development has just added an official Dogecoin wallet to collect donations in support of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the head of the department, Mykhailo Fedorov, has said via Twitter:

“Dogecoin exceeded Russian ruble in value. We start to accept donations in meme coin. Now even meme can support our army and save lives from Russian invaders. $DOGE owners of the world, Elon Musk, Billy Markus, let’s do it. Official $DOGE wallet: DS76K9uJJzQjCFvAbpPGtFerp1qkJoeLwL.”

Ukraine has recently expanded the possibilities of raising funds in cryptos by opening an official Polkadot (DOT) wallet. The founder of the blockchain project, Gavin Wood, has transferred 298,367 DOT valued at $5.77 million to it.

In addition, Mykhailo Fedorov has asked “all major cryptocurrency exchanges” to freeze the accounts of users from Russia and Belarus.
