CleanSpark Purchases Several Mining Sites
CleanSpark, a United States-based Bitcoin mining company, has announced its plans to purchase seven cryptocurrency mining facilities and their accompanying land in Knoxville, Tennessee.
The acquisition is expected to increase CleanSpark’s hashrate by 22%. The mining facilities are currently owned by Exponential Digital and the purchase of these facilities for $27.5 million in cash is expected to be completed by September 25.
The combined capacities of the seven facilities is 85 MW and they will contribute 5 EH/s with the use of Bitmain S21 pro-ASIC miners.
CleanSpark’s CEO Zach Bradford stated that the additional 5 EH/s is expected to begin hashing in the coming weeks and the company projects to have a total of 37 EH/s by the end of 2024.
