Metaplanet Acquires Another 156 BTC
Japanese investment firm Metaplanet Inc. has increased its Bitcoin holdings by purchasing an additional 156 BTC, bringing its total to 2,391 BTC.
According to Metaplanet’s official announcement on March 3, the recent acquisition was made at an average price of 12.95 million yen ($85,483) per Bitcoin, amounting to a total of 2.021 billion yen ($13.34 million).
Since formally integrating Bitcoin into its business plan, Metaplanet has actively accumulated assets through capital market activities. From July 2024, its Bitcoin holdings have grown significantly, increasing from 161 BTC to 2,391 BTC.
In the latest announcement, the company also introduced its BTC Yield, a vital performance metric that evaluates the ratio of Bitcoin accumulation to share dilution. Following a 309.8% yield in Q4 2024, Metaplanet’s current BTC yield from January 1 to March 3 stands at 31.8%.
