Crypto exchange OKX has obtained a MiFID II license, allowing it to launch derivative products for European institutional clients.

This licensing follows the exchange’s recent pre-authorization under the Markets in Crypto-Assets (MiCA) framework, making OKX the first virtual financial asset exchange to receive this pre-approval.

The MiFID II license enables OKX to offer regulated investment services throughout the European Union.

“Our MiFID II and MiCA licenses highlight our commitment to adhering to Europe’s stringent compliance standards and serving the trading community’s needs,” wrote Erald Ghoos, OKX’s Europe CEO, in a Thursday blog post.
